Neuromodulators (Tox)
Softening expression lines without erasing expression.

What neuromodulators are
Neuromodulators are injectable proteins that temporarily relax specific facial muscles. When a targeted muscle is unable to contract fully, the overlying skin smooths and expression lines soften. Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are the most established options, each using botulinum toxin type A and supported by decades of clinical evidence.
How they work
Once injected, the neuromodulator binds to nerve endings in the muscle and interrupts the signal that causes it to contract. The effect is gradual over three to ten days and reaches its peak at around two weeks. The treatment is precise — adjacent muscles remain unaffected, which is why a well-placed result preserves natural expression while removing the tension lines beneath it.
What to expect
Treatment takes around fifteen to thirty minutes depending on the areas involved. There is no recovery time. Mild redness or a small amount of swelling at injection sites can occur and typically resolves within a few hours. Results last three to four months on average, though this varies by individual and the muscles treated.
Who it suits
Neuromodulators work particularly well for dynamic lines — wrinkles that form in motion, such as frown lines between the brows, forehead lines, and crow's feet. They are also used for brow lifting, jawline slimming, gummy smile correction, and neck banding. A practitioner at a Vos clinic will assess whether neuromodulators are the right approach or whether a combination protocol would serve you better.
Maintaining your results
Most people return every three to four months to maintain the effect. Consistent treatment over time can actually extend the interval between sessions, as muscles become conditioned to relax more readily. Your practitioner will help you find a cadence that works for your face and your schedule.
