VOS SCORE

How we evaluate treatments

What is the Vos Score?

The Vos Score is a rating system built on structured input from healthcare professionals across the Vos network. Every scored treatment was evaluated by practitioners who use it in clinical practice — not editorial reviewers, not marketers.

Each treatment is rated across six criteria, scored from 1 to 5. Those ratings are averaged to produce a single Vos Score, which is then assigned a tier label — from Icon Status at the top to Skip It at the bottom.

The score is not a measure of clinical quality alone. It reflects the full picture: who a treatment works for, how visible the results are, what the experience is like, how well it fits into a broader care plan, and whether the evidence supports it. A treatment can be excellent in a narrow context and still score lower than one that works reliably across many patients and goals.

Vos evaluation criteria

THE CRITERIA

How broadly applicable is this treatment? Practitioners evaluate whether it is appropriate for a wide range of patients and goals, or whether meaningful eligibility constraints — skin type, age, concern, health history — limit who can benefit. A high score here means the treatment works well across a diverse patient population.

Who evaluates the treatments?

Scores are drawn from surveys completed by licensed practitioners — physicians, nurses, and aesthetic professionals — active across Vos Collection clinics. Each treatment was evaluated only by practitioners with direct clinical experience using it.

A treatment with fewer qualified respondents may carry less statistical weight, which we note where relevant. Scores reflect the honest professional consensus — not a curated or commercially influenced view.

THE TIERS

5 — Icon Status

A treatment we consider foundational for many patients — broadly useful, credible, and consistently recommendable.

4 — Worth the Hype

A strong option for common aesthetic goals, with meaningful benefits for the right patient.

3 — It Depends

Can be valuable — but results, value, or fit are more dependent on the patient, concern, or treatment plan.

2 — Niche Pick

May have a role in select cases, but usually has meaningful limitations or better alternatives.

1 — Skip It

Not widely recommended because of limited evidence, inconsistent benefit, poor value, or better options.
