Treatment
Tixel
Thermal resurfacing with less downtime than a laser.

What's going on beneath the skin
The titanium tip makes contact with the skin for milliseconds at a time, transferring heat energy that vaporizes a precise column of tissue in each micro-channel. Because contact time is so brief, heat spread to surrounding tissue is minimal — a key difference from many laser systems. As the micro-channels heal, the body lays down new collagen and elastin, improving skin density, texture, and tone over the following weeks.
In sub-ablative mode, no tissue is removed. The heat transfer increases skin permeability, allowing topical serums applied immediately after treatment to penetrate at a depth they cannot reach through normal application. This makes the sub-ablative setting particularly useful for brightening, hydrating, or regenerative protocols.
Daily & Ongoing Care
After treatment
Expect redness and mild swelling for 24 to 48 hours following an ablative session. The skin may feel tight and slightly textured as the micro-channels close. Keep the skin well moisturized and avoid retinoids, exfoliating acids, and active ingredients for at least five days. SPF 30 or higher is non-negotiable — new skin is significantly more vulnerable to UV-induced pigmentation changes. Avoid heat exposure including saunas and hot showers for 48 hours.
Before treatment
Arrive with clean, product-free skin. Discontinue retinoids and exfoliating acids three to five days before your appointment. If you have a history of cold sores, let your provider know — thermal treatments can trigger a breakout, and prophylactic antiviral medication may be appropriate.
Ongoing
Results build over three to six months as collagen remodels. Most patients benefit from a series of two to four treatments spaced four to six weeks apart, with annual maintenance to sustain the improvement.
Targeted Solutions
Fine lines and early wrinkle formation
Skin texture and surface roughness
Acne scarring (mild to moderate)
Sun damage and uneven pigmentation
Mild skin laxity
Enhanced topical delivery (sub-ablative mode)
What to expect
During treatment
Sessions run 20 to 45 minutes depending on the area. A topical numbing cream is applied 30 to 45 minutes beforehand. The device stamps across the skin in a methodical pattern — most patients describe a warm, prickling sensation. There is no laser light involved and no protective eyewear required.
After treatment
Redness peaks in the first few hours and typically resolves within one to three days at mid-intensity settings. Some bronzing and mild flaking may occur in the days following as the micro-channels close and shed. Social downtime is generally one to three days depending on treatment depth.
Results timeline
Immediate improvements in skin clarity are often visible within a few days once redness resolves. The deeper collagen remodeling results — improved texture, reduced laxity, softened scarring — develop progressively over three to six months.
