Overview
Persistent redness, visible vessels, and rosacea are vascular concerns that skincare alone cannot resolve. Excel V is a dual-wavelength laser designed specifically for these issues, targeting both superficial and deeper blood vessels with precision and minimal recovery time.
What's going on beneath the skin
Visible redness and broken vessels occur when small blood vessels near the skin surface become permanently dilated or damaged. This happens through a combination of genetics, sun exposure, rosacea, and the natural ageing of skin. Once dilated, these vessels do not resolve on their own, and the redness they produce is structural, not just a surface flush.
Excel V uses two wavelengths of laser light, each calibrated to a different target depth. The first selectively heats and damages the walls of superficial vessels, causing them to collapse. The second reaches deeper vascular structures that the first wavelength cannot. As the body clears the treated vessels over the following weeks, redness, flushing, and visible capillaries gradually diminish. The surrounding tissue is left largely unaffected.
Daily & Ongoing Care
At-home care:
- SPF 30 or higher daily. UV exposure is the primary driver of vascular changes and will affect your results long-term.
- Avoid heat, saunas, strenuous exercise, and hot showers for 24 to 48 hours post-treatment
- Do not apply makeup over treated areas for the first 24 hours
- Avoid aggressive skincare products for a few days while any redness settles
Before treatment:
- Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for 4 weeks before treatment
- Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements for 1 week before to reduce bruising, if cleared by your doctor
- Arrive with clean skin, free of makeup and skincare products
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before treatment, as it can increase flushing and bruising

What to expect
During treatment
A cooling gel or topical numbing may be applied beforehand. The laser handpiece delivers precise pulses of energy to the treatment area. Most patients feel a snapping or stinging sensation with each pulse. Sessions run 20 to 45 minutes depending on the area and concern being treated.
After treatment
Redness and mild swelling in the treated area typically resolve within a few hours. Some patients experience mild bruising, particularly over visible vessels, which fades within a week. Treated vessels may appear temporarily darker before they begin to fade. Most patients return to normal activities immediately.
Results timeline
Vascular lesions fade progressively over 2 to 4 weeks after each session as the body reabsorbs treated vessels. Diffuse redness and rosacea typically improve over a series of sessions. Results for discrete vessels can be long-lasting, though new vessels can develop over time with ongoing sun exposure.
