Cara Costner

When Dr. Brian Biesman talks publicly about how the DESCRIBE PFD patch actually works in practice, he credits Cara Costner, in his own words, with discovering the nuances.

She's a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner at Brian S. Biesman MD in Nashville, where she's been since December 2012. BS from UT Austin, BSN from Texas Tech, Master's FNP from Vanderbilt School of Nursing, a career that started in the NICU at Vanderbilt Children's. At the Biesman practice she is lead evaluating investigator on the clinical trial program, including the pivotal studies behind the DESCRIBE patch for laser tattoo removal (Merz). She's co-authored two peer-reviewed papers in Lasers in Surgery and Medicine: the 2015 Editor's Choice pilot and the 2017 pivotal trial.

Very few nurse practitioners have their names on pivotal trials in the aesthetic literature. That record produces a clinician who treats every patient like a dataset of one: documenting, refining, and willing to tell you exactly how confident she is in the answer.
